Take up your cross – Sermon for the 16th Sunday After Pentecost

Which to take up and carry?

No that’s not what the sermon was about, but that is how it started. It was, however, based on the Gospel reading for that day:  Luke 14:25-33.
“. . . Whoever comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and even life itself, cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not carry the cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. . . .”
